KSM Announces Melisa Regan as New President

HOUSTON, June 6, 2022 – KSM announced that Melisa Regan has been named as President effective June 1, 2022. Kelly Mathews, Founder and former President, will remain at KSM to smoothly and successfully transition leadership to Regan before moving to the newly-formed KSM Advisory Board on January 1, 2024. In transitioning roles to Regan, Mathews said “I am thrilled with the direction our firm is taking. Melisa’s leadership, both culturally within our firm and technically with our clients, is second to none. I am excited to see the firm flourish under Melisa’s leadership now and in the years to come.”

Melisa began her career at KSM as a motor fuels tax consultant in 2008. With her work experience at BMC and other technology companies prior to joining KSM, Melisa was the perfect fit to launch our firm’s Tax Technology service offering in 2013. Melisa forged solid relationships with software partners and clients for successful implementations. Melisa leveraged these skills becoming the Client Services Partner in 2016, overseeing client relationships and projects.

Kelly and Melisa are (almost) always excited about motor fuels tax, even at a client holiday party in 2016!

“I appreciate the foundation that KSM has built over the past two decades in the motor fuels tax area. I look forward to continuing to provide the same excellent service, building lasting relationships, and sharing our expertise with current and future clients for many years to come,” Regan said.

With over 14 years of experience, Regan leads a team that specializes in U.S. state and federal motor fuels tax Compliance, General Consulting, and Tax Technology services. KSM has more than 100 years of combined motor fuels tax experience on its leadership team and is committed to delivering consistent high-quality experience to its clients.
